Research shows that consumers need help shopping at a garden center. In fact, most don’t even identify themselves as a ‘gardener’. Rather, it’s about their lifestyle and a desire to have plants be part of it. Further, we know that the care tag at the point of sale is what most shoppers turn to when deciding what plants to buy. To that end, MasterTag has developed two new tag series, based on consumer research and showcased at AmericanHort’s Cultivate’19 Show in Columbus, Ohio.

Mini Sign Collection

The Mini Sign Collection offers 10 unique signs, each based on consumer research, that relate to a specific need expressed by garden center shoppers. They can be applied at shipping or at retail, and displayed on risers for increased visibility. The Mini Signs are printed on a water-resistant paper substrate, that contributes to a reduction in plastic usage. Garden center shoppers want help navigating them to the right plants for their particular needs. Mini Signs offer a cost-effective way to guide shoppers to selections that will increase their success and satisfaction.

Cacti and Succulent Tags

Succulents, and increasingly cacti, are continuing to trend up in the US market. Their ease of care and interesting array of shapes and colors are a big draw, especially among younger shoppers. MasterTag taps into this consumer trend with a new line of cacti and succulent tags. The collection is comprised of the top ten succulents and top eight cacti in each category, based on consumer appeal. And while the tags are simple, a wealth of additional information can be accessed by texting either ‘succulents’ or ‘mycactus’ to 555-888 for expanded information and inspiration on Pinterest, tied directly to MasterTag’s consumer website www.MyGardenLife.com
